Hello everyone,

IRS, PA, and Local Tax forms will be available after the first of the year. As you may know, IRS forms will NOT be mailed to tax payers this year. You will have to access them online or pick them up at a “tax form outlet”, i.e. the library. The library does not offer tax help, just the tax forms. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is available to certain individuals. Check the IRS.gov website in January for site listings.

Celebrity Visit!! Come meet Chip Hill author of The Fire Watcher. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1 PM. It is a mystery, a love story, a story of redemption. Recently nominated for two 2010 Christy Award categories: “Best First Novel” and “Best Suspense." Meet Chip, purchase the book, join in the discussion, ask questions, have your book signed, enjoy refreshments and a night of literary socialization…

Coming Soon... Family Story Time Night, Family Game Night, Manga Club…

Gingerbread House Class... Learn to construct and decorate a winter time favorite for all ages! Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 5 PM. Pre-registration is required! A $15 fee covers the cost of all materials to make and decorate your house. Take home a recipe, templates, and a yummy house! (Child/parent pairs are encouraged to attend!)

Story Time – Wednesdays @ 10:30 AM – Read, sing, play, create!

Book Discussion Group – Tuesday, January 18 @ 6:30 PM – The group is reading Water for Elephants.

Movie Night! – Saturday, January 22 @ 6:30 – Come see TOY STORY 3. This movie will be shown in cooperation with and at the Bessemer Presbyterian Church. Free admission and refreshments!

Board Meeting – Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 6:30 PM

Junior High Valentine Dance – Saturday, February 5 from 3:30 – 7 PM – to be held at the Bessemer Croatian Club. Watch for more information and ticket sales at Mohawk School.

Continue to check out our “giving tree.” On the library bulletin board, we have a tree with items that we can use at the library. If there is something you can provide, let the librarians know and bring the item back at your earliest convenience. (ex. felt, book ends, buttons, etc.) Thank you to those who have generously donated useful items for activities and programs. You are appreciated!
