Here's what is going on at the F.D. Campbell Library in the month of April.

Adult computer classes begin this month. They will be held from 10 – 11 AM on:
Monday, May 2
Monday, May 9
Monday, May 16
Monday, May 23

Public computer use will be limited during this hour each day to accommodate the students. Please adjust your schedule accordingly.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and consideration for those seeking to learn new computer skills.


*Story Time – Wednesdays @ 10:30 AM – Read, sing, play, create!

*American Girl Club – Thursday, May 12 @ 6 PM
If you missed it last month, here’s your chance… Girl talk, crafts, stories... All school age girls welcome – Let’s get together!

*Book Discussion Group – Tuesday, May 17 @ 6:30 PM – The group is reading Brooklyn by Colm Toibin

*Jr. High Spring Dance – Sunday, May 15 @ 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bessemer Croatian Club. Cost is $6/person at the Library or at the Door. It’s Spring Fling time again! Dress up, bring your friends, dance, eat, and socialize!

*Movie Night! – Saturday, May 21 @ 6:30 – Come see Secretariat shown in cooperation with and at the Bessemer Presbyterian Church. Free admission and refreshments!

The library and the Presbyterian Church are planning to co-host outdoor movie nights at Kennedy Park during the summer. Stay tuned for more information!

*Manga Mania – Wednesday, May 25 @ 6 PM – Share your favorite series, learn about some new ones, watch some episodes, find out the latest! It’s up to you… but please come and share the craze!

Get ready to Buddy Up!

WANTED: Big and Little Book Buddies

Kids – have a fun time reading all summer
Teens – volunteer to be a reading mentor
Parents – register your youngsters for a free, fun program that encourages reading, builds skills, and prevents loss of good reading habits during the summer.

Registration forms for readers and mentors are available at the library

We welcome LuAnne Izzo as the newest FD Campbell Board Member! We thank Mary Ann Cardella for her years of service and wish her well as she resigns her position on the Library Board.

The next board meeting will be Monday, May 23 at 6:30 PM. The public is welcome to attend!
